Record Heat!!

OK, so I don't know that it's actually in the record books, but it's HOT --- sticky, yucky, humid Tennessee hot. The past few days have been well into the 90's with it feeling like 100, so we had no other option but to head for the water any way possible!! On Thursday afternoon Hailey, Jada and I went to Dolan Pool on base -- they just finished renovating it and the kiddie pool was great!! Unlike the county pool, where the "kiddie" pool gets as deep as two feet, this kiddie pool maxes out at about 8 inches -- Hailey loved it, and even made some new friends (all boys of course, she's such a flirt!!) Jada was a good sport -- I couldn't imagine being 8 months preggo in this heat -- ahhhh!

Yesterday the heat was back, and with the combination of hot sunny days and stormy afternoons the grass has been growing like crazy -- so while Hailey napped I dragged myself out to cut and edge the front lawn -- (call it an early Father's Day gift sweetie, now you only have to do the back yard ;) ) Once Hailey woke up I took her little splash pool out front and set it up so her and I could cool off some -- she was far more interested in the water running off of the pool, and in pull off the heads of all my flowers, and then sticking her dirty little hands in my water cup . . . thanks kid!!

When she was done I hosed her off and cut her loose in the house . . . while she was running about harassing the kitty I noticed a red spot on the back of her leg, could it be . . . a bug had the nerve to bite my baby?! It's a good one alright . . . nothing a little afterbite, some crunchies and a picture with mommy can't cure -- is it just me or does she look nothing like me?!! (Except for the strawberry blonde locks of course, she sure didn't get those from her daddy!)

Oooh, that pool looks nice! Hopefully it's still open when we come to visit! Babe would love it.

Alas Susan, you are right...Hailey looks like Karl. I noticed it when we met up in Bowling Green. Someone should have been kind and told you ahead of time that Sondermanns have clones not children! But, I think she has your personality and as we all know...its all about attitude!
