Yesterday we went out to the drop zone to watch Karl's company complete a heavy drop mission. We took along some friends; Jada, Heather and Matthew; and endured the heat for about an hour while waiting for the Air Force to get their plane in gear!!! Finally, after sweating it out (luckily we came prepared with some tents and chairs!!)
da plane da plane arrived and dropped the first load, a crate full of water supply. Next go round was the biggie, Karl's Hum-V (See the video at the bottom -- Karl took it, no idea why it's so unsteady!!).
The final drop didn't go off due to some "malfunctions" but we didn't mind heading out of the heat!! Matthew was chilling in the back on the way home while Hailey passed out -- the heat really took it out of her :)
Later that afternoon we met up with some friends from playgroup and went to the kiddie pool on base, after all there's no better way to beat the Tennessee heat!!! Here we have Liam trying to drink my tea, Baylee getting some refreshment, Hailey the little diva with her matching sun hat and swim suit & the mom's sitting poolside.
