Time for a little lesson in Scottish slang -- Bairn, pronounced "bear-na" not "barney" as Karl once thought -- is Scottish for child, often used to describe the youngest. So Aunt Linda, the youngest of my mother's siblings is referred the as "the bairn".
So Happy Birthday Great Aunt Bairn (dare I mention how old you are?? Nah, I'll let Nonni or Auntie Tracey write it in the comments should they feel the need to do so :) ) Wish we could be in Florida to celebrate with you, but Hailey sends birthday hugs all the same!!
