Mountain Retreat

On Dec.26 at 4:30am we all pushed off from TN bound for our family vacation in Snowshoe, WV. The trip up was long, exhausting and rainy, but well worth it for a week away! Hailey as usual was a trooper in the car and didn't fuss until the last hour (the trip was 12 hours!), and to be totally honest by that point we were all a little cranky!!
For those who may not know, Lisa, Karl and I all share ownership of a condo at Snowshoe ski resort in WV, courtesy of Nonni and Papa (who also own a place up there). Anyhow, we assumed ownership of the condo back in 2006 and this was our first ski trip up there, about time! The trip was crazy busy, with lots of visitors, but all the madness was well worth getting to see famiy and friends we don't get to see often otherwise!
Nonni and Papa, Karl, myself and Hailey (plus our pups) were there for the whole week.

From Fri-Sun Aunt Lisa stayed with us, and Cousin Kuna came to visit from Sat-Sun.

From Sat-Wed Aunt Heidi, Boompa and crazy Diane from WV all came for a visit! Diane happens to be one of Nonni's oldest friends and has known me since I was 3 years old!

Next, Aunt Kristen and Uncle Mike came to spend New Years Eve and New Years day with us! They ended up departing a little early due to some inclimate weather rolling in -- but we still managed to have a ton of fun skiing, snowboarding, amd ringing in the New Year!
The week seemed to last a nice long time until Friday rolled around and it was time to go home! Nonni and Papa took off Thursday evening, along with Kris and Mike, while Karl and I stayed around to face the impending snowfall. Sure enough, Friday morning there was lots of the white stuff falling, but we made it out safely, and 14 hours later arrived back home. We stopped in Winchester, KY to visit with Aunt Lisa and Uncle Mike at the farm -- and silly me forgot to take pictures =(, but we plan on visiting them again soon, and I swear I'll make up for the lack of pictures then! In the meantime, here are a few more shots of our great vacation!!!
