More To The Beach Than Just . . . Beach :)

So, finally I have time to sit and blog some more -- phew,it has been a crazy week getting back from vacation :) Anyhow here are a few of the other fun times we had at Myrtle, told best through pictures of course!

We also visited some of the homes devastated by the fires that hit Barefoot Landing (the same development where Boompa and Grandma own their condo) -- it was really sad, I couldn't imagine loosing EVERYTHING, obviously I would be thankful to not loose life, but just imagine having to start all over again -- you just can't put a price on everything you own, I know I couldn't! Anyhow, here's some of the damage -- the shocking part was just how random it all was, some houses would be completely gone, while neighbors just has burnt siding, I had no idea fire was like that, I figured everything in the area would be gone . . .



Thanks again for the best time Boompa and Grandma, we miss you tons!!!

Beach Baby

This past week was spent in Myrtle Beach, SC at Grandma and Boompa Sondermann's beach condo -- it was Hailey's first trip to the beach since she was just 2 months old! If I had to describe her beach experience in just one word it would be Fearless . . . day 1 she saw the shoreline and was off!! No mommy or daddy at her side, she just went straight for the ocean :) Luckily daddy caught up to her and made it down to the water first . . . although he did manage to let her fall in a time or two, oops :) (Didn't think I saw that did you honey?!)

Karl got a good burn on his back day 1 while building sand castles, and I earned my lobster back on day 2 -- but we didn't let it put a damper on our beach outings! Hailey I'm happy to report didn't burn at all, to say I was neurotic about applying her Aveeno baby lotion would be an understatement!

The beach can be a rather exhausting experience!!!

Our last beach day was Tuesday -- Heidi and Mike had to head back on Monday and Boompa and Grandma hit the road on Tuesday morning -- the beach was much quieter on Tuesday so Hails, Karl and I took advantage of the sun and the quiet to enjoy one more day of beach fun just the 3 of us . . .

Now it's back to work and reality :( -- but we had the best time with everyone at the beach and can't wait for our next big adventure!! DisneyWorld here we come, 35 days and counting!!!

Berry Fun Day

Today Hail's and I ventured out with playgroup to H&S Farms to do some strawberry picking. I thought Hailey may enjoy the experience and I have always loved going to pick your own venues, supporting local agriculture is very important to me! I had NO idea just how much of a success it would be -- Hailey was too cute! I gave her charge of the basket while I picked, but I noticed that there were about half the amount of strawberries in the basket than I remembered gathering -- I quickly realized that Hail's wasn't just nibbling on a few, she was devouring them at a rapid rate :) She was quickly relieved of her position (much to her dismay . . . there was even a little hissy fit thrown) and I rationed her strawberry intake. After everyone was through gathering we all enjoyed some lunch together and some strawberry shortcake and strawberry ice cream for dessert! Thanks for a fun time girls -- even if we almost didn't make it there (Katrina saved the day; Mariah, you're no longer allowed to be line leader!!) -- although I must give her credit, if it hadn't been for Mariah I would have had a pictureless blog as I managed to forget my camera!! -- so thanks Mariah ;)!!

Weekly Review

So, I've been slacking a little, but this week has been super busy! Monday was spent running errands, Tuesday I worked, Wednesday we met Grey and Lindsey to play and I had a coffee in the evening (military thing . . . ), Thursday we met up with th girls from playgroup and went to JumpZone and I worked again in the evening, and yesterday we were down in Nashville getting patio furniture :) . . . so, I guess I have an excuse or two for not blogging :) But here are a few pix from Hailey's week . . .
