Big Birthday Excitment!!!

Hailey is officially 1 today, yes, 1!! I cannot believe how fast a year has gone, and yet I wouldn't change a thing! This week has been super super busy, but I'll run a quick recap and include some pictures . . . Monday came the arrival of Nonni, Papa, Gigi (Great Grandma) Betty and Great Papa Neil . . . phew, that's a lot of people (not to mention Abbey and Lilly the Yorkies!) Hailey was excited to have so many people around, especially since GiGi and Papa Neil came all the way from Scotland! I had an exam Monday morning, and am happy to report I aced it -- 102% :)
Tuesday I spent at work, boooo, while the family stayed in with Hailey. Tuesday evening Aunt Lisa arrived from Maryland and the influx of family finally came to a halt. Good thing too as I have run out of beds, couches and air mattresses!!!
This evening will be the big Luau birthday party, we have lots of friends coming over and have been preparing all day!! I will post pictures as soon as I can this evening since we will be heading to Nashville first thing Friday morning to spend a long weekend there with everyone before they all leave . . . talk about a busy birthday week for Hailey Bug!!!

One For Molly, One For Jersey, And One For Me

Sharing is caring, and Hailey loves her pup dogs!

Hailey's Hot Date

Today Hailey had a one on one play date with Greyson, at his house! I called it her first "date" but her daddy wasn't on board with that terminology . . . in fact she got a little lecture prior to her date, and I got an even longer one -- do's and don'ts of Hailey's dating, courtesy of da-da. I told him I was going to give them complete privacy on their wagon ride together, that really got him going!

All joking aside, we had a great time with Lindsey and Greyson! Thanks for entertaining us, baking muffins, sharing your water and sand table, and even for breaking us into neighborhood houses so we could check out the floor plans :) Leave it to Lindsey to know where the realtors hide the hide a key!

Typical girl . . . Grey has something, Hailey spots it . . . next thing you know, Hailey has it and Greyson is left not so happy! It only gets more expensive from here on out buddy!

To make up for stealing his toys, Hailey invited Greyson on a wagon ride, complete with hor d'oeuvres and cocktails, and Greyson even taught Hailey how to throw her snack cup out the side of the wagon . . . thanks for that Grey!!!

Pimp My Wagon

Hailey is one cool little cucumber . . . check her out chilling in her wagon while I attempt an afternoon walk -- I must say I'm pretty talented to manage a camera, wagon and two crazy mutts, tell me again why this job doesn't pay???

Rivers and Spires Festival

This weekend was Clarksville's big festival, Rivers and Spires, named for the fact that we have the Cumberland river running through downtown and there are lots of church spires dotting the city skyline . . . it is by no means a huge event, but for lil' ol' Clarksville, it's not half bad! We had an eventful day to say the least; I was definitely not on my A game! Early on Hailey and I were walking around and she managed to take on the sidewalk before I could catch her . . . it appeared she got away with just a slightly split lip, but come Sunday morning we would realize just how rough her fall was! I won't be winning mom of the year anytime soon for that tumble! Tumbles aside however, Hailey had a fun day . . . there was lots to see and do and even some catching up time with Nanny Jada and Garrett!

Ouchies . . . let's hope it clears up before her big party!!!

Note her fancy new shades . . . she also got a new toddler harness to allow us to break any future falls until she has a better handle on gravity!!

OH, I ......................

Wish I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener, that is what I truly want to be, cause if I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener, everyone would be in love with me!!!!!

Next the little wiener moved on to the toddler jumping castle and had a blast!!

I'll Walk With Ya Daddy . . .

I don't know what it is but I LOVE pictures of Karl walking with Hailey -- guess I just love those two little tooshies! :)

Fun With The Ladies

After a crazy work day Friday (and a busy week in general) I was feeling very TGIF! Thankfully it was Mariah's birthday and therefore I had a reason to go out with some of the girls and celebrate, not that a reason is required . . . but it doesn't hurt to have one! First was dinner at Kohana's Japanese restaurant which was delicious -- and then drinks and dessert at Chili's. Mariah (who turned 24, 25 . . . twenty something younger than me . . . ) admitted to having never been drunk (seriously, never?!) so I thought what better way than with shots. I was on no mission to get drunk, as I have had plenty of drunkenness in my lifetime, but I did take two shots with the birthday girl ... after all no one wants to drink alone (Kartrina was driving and Sam, well she was "tired" "exhausted" and "worked all week" ;) ) I had to laugh when Mariah responded "what, me and Katrina don't work raising kids??" ~Toshay . . .
Anyhow, back to the shots. First Sam ordered a round of Kamikaze's. . . they were pretty awful, then I ordered a round of blow jobs; I recalled them being pretty good back in the day. I guess my taste buds have changed since my party days because it too was pretty awful!
We did manage to get Mariah at the least tipsy and had a fun time hanging out, so thanks ladies for a fun night out! Can't wait to do it again sometime, perhaps we make it a monthly occurrence?

**P.S. Cool kids go to space camp :)**

This Kid's Got STYLE...

Starting early . . . Hailey already has a taste for expensive jewelery, here she is sporting mom's Tiffany's necklace, very cute baby!

Patio Progress

I am very excited to have Grandma and Boompa here vising for many reasons . . . like the fact that we have had a chance to explore fun new places (Chattanooga, the Hermitage in Nashville) and Hailey is pretty stoked with all her new and exciting loot; clothes, toys, books, a red wagon...

but most of all I'm super excited that Karl was able to make some amazing progress on his 9 month long project, also known as our patio! So here's to you Boomp's for helping Karl with all the heavy lifting and puzzle piece deciphering . . . and Grandma for watching Hailey so we could get it all done!

I also managed to snag a great new outdoor run for on the porch (Yippee for Target sales!) I hate the thought of Hail's getting splinters in the summer . . .

And I guess the "privacy" fence isn't quite so private anymore . . . "HI MR. ED!!"

Happy Easter . . . and then some

Easter Sunday brought lots of fun and excitement. First Hailey got all dolled up for Easter Mass --- adorable if I do say so myself . . .

Next there was Easter Brunch on base at Cole Park Commons, delicious . . . Hailey thoroughly enjoyed going to visit all the tables and spread a little Easter cheer (she is such a ham!)

Once we came home it was time to open some presents!! In fact this whole week while Boompa and Grandma have been visiting has been full of presents . . . I am pretty certain Hailey has gotten something new every day!

Come Monday Hailey got to spend some quality time with Grandma, Boompa and daddy as mommy had classes! Karl and Boompa made some astounding progress on the patio (more on that later) while Grandma made Hailey a birthday cake, why not celebrate as much as we can this month?! The afternoon was spent picking out Hailey's birthday gift from Grandma and Boompa, and might I say it's a beauty!!! And way cooler than a stroller!

To top off an exciting day -- there was BIRTHDAY CAKE. Ok, Ok, so we're a little ahead of ourselves, she won't turn 1 for a few more weeks, but Grandma and Boompa wanted to celebrate while they were here, and we won't turn down cake!! So I'm happy to report that the first cake test run was a success, she LOVES the stuff ;)
